I'm a Big One Year Old
Christmas and New Year's

We celebrated
big in the last few weeks. First of all, I helped
mommy put up a tree INSIDE the house! She called it a
Christmas Tree and we got to hang pretty things on
it, which I learned are called Ornaments. I had fun
taking the ornaments on and off the tree for several
weeks. Then, people started sending us presents. I
wanted to open them right away, but Mommy and Maddy
wouldn't let me. They said we had to put the presents
under the tree. I wanted to be under the tree too, so
I lay down on top of all the presents, but Mommy
didn't think that was a good idea for some reason....
We kept getting boxes of gifts which we put under the
tree. At one point I caught Mommy taking gifts from
under the tree and putting them in a brown box (to
send to Grandma). I told her they weren't supposed to
go there and put them back under the tree for her!
Then one day we were eating breakfast and Maddy said we could open the presents after breakfast. I got down right away, I was so excited! After about 3 or 4 new toys I just wanted to play with those, but we kept opening more and more things! When it was all over, we had a big turkey dinner.
You would think that would be enough excitement for awhile, but the next week there was another holiday. For this one we got to go Canoeing AND Camping! I was very excited about the camping and wanted to go right away, but Mommy and Maddy explained that we had to wait until tomorrow! The weather was a bit cold at night, so I tried out some new winter clothes. Here's Mommy trying on my new snow pants. They were too small for her - really what was she thinking! They fit me much better.
Once we got to the river we loaded all our camping gear into the canoe and I got to sit in the center. I did a good job of hanging onto the sides when we went over little waves, and I got to say WOOSH! That's a fun word to say - you should try it WOOSH!
At camp we had a campfire and Maddy showed my how to warm up my hands. We also got to roast hot dogs on sticks by the fire, and I got to have Hot Chocolate (yummy good!). I hope we go again soon!

My Halloween
experience
This year we celebrated halloween in the traditional style (so my parents tell me). I got all dressed up as my favorite insect - a bee! When I was first learning words, I learned the word "BEE" and called all insects bees for awhile - hey it was easy to say, so wouldn't you? Anyway, back to the story - we went to a few neighbors houses and they gave me CANDY! All I had to do was say "trick or treat". Sometimes I didn't even have to do that they were so anxious to get rid of their candy. My favorite was the neighbor who had lollipops. I insisted on eating those right away even though my Mom tried to make me wait until we got home. I mean, who would wait with a delicious treat like that? Here I am at home sucking on my lollipop.
After downing a couple of lollipops, Maddy got dressed up too (although she didn't have a bee costume, so had to settle for something else) and we went downtown.
There were a lot of people there and there were games you could play. I fed a spider and talked to a lady who said she was the Queen of Hearts.

My favorite part though was going down the slide.

I wonder if I can be a bee again next year? Or maybe I'll have a different favorite insect then. Oh, I had to throw this in so you could see my stinger!

Hey, I have a bunch of new pictures at ClubPhoto!
And, if you stay tuned, there may be a new movie of me coming soon. Maddie has begun to work on it. Though that doesn't mean much. She's been working on that kayaking video from back in 1998, and she still hasn't finished!

NEW SKILLS
Hey everyone!
I've been making lots of new discoveries and gaining skills. Lately I've been exploring the concepts of IN and OUT. I especially like to put MYSELF in things. Here are some examples:
I have also discovered that climbing is really fun - maybe I'll be a climber and not a kayaker when I grow up?
In mid-December, at about 9.5 months I finally figured out how to put one foot in front of the other and now I can toddle around after Mommy and Maddy, chase after Sumi and Yoda, and explore every nook and cranny in the house! Currently, I am perfecting my running skills.... I've found that if you keep your mouth open, it helps with the balance -

That last one is on New Year's Eve- I've got the champagne corks in hand.. (I had some help opening the bottles!)
Here's me with my brand new shoes
